VIC MCCRAY, MD

Vic McCray, MD is a Co-Founder of Tangible Science and serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer where he leads commercialization of technology to improve contact lens comfort for patients suffering from dry eye disease. Involved at the inception, Vic has seen the company through several important milestones including initial proof of concept, venture funding, and the ongoing business development and licensing negotiations.

 

Vic received his medical Degree from the University of Illinois and completed a residency in general surgery at the University of California San Francisco-Fresno; he is currently a general surgeon in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has also received formal training in medical device innovation at Stanford University Biodesign and has served as a guest lecturer in entrepreneurship and innovation at several universities worldwide. Vic has authored several research publications and is an inventor on a number of pending patents.

KAREN HAVENSTRITE, PhD, MBA

Karen Havenstrite, Ph.D., MBA is a Co-Founder of Tangible Science and serves as Chief Technical Officer. Karen has been with Tangible Science since inception and has led development of the HydraPEG technology from concept to commercialization.

 

Karen received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, where her thesis work focused on designing hydrogel materials to improve the regenerative properties of muscle stem cells; she also received her MBA from Stanford University. Karen has authorized multiple research publications, been awarded SBIR grants from the National Science Foundation, and has been recognized by the American Chemical Society as a “Talented 12” young scientist for her novel work on contact lens materials.

BRANDON FELKINS

Brandon Felkins is a Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Tangible Science with over 10 years’ experience developing medical technology. Prior to co-founding Tangible Science, Brandon held key positions at several medical device startups and consulting companies, and has provided engineering and product development support to numerous companies in multiple clinical areas including cardiology, spine, orthopedics, neurology, and endoscopy.  


Brandon graduated from the Stanford Biodesign Fellowship Program in 2011 and holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
